Wahl Leaves Lincoln Mercury DETROIT—Deborah Wahl, marketing communications manager for Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln Mercury division in Irvine, Calif., has left the company for a similar post at Toyota Motor Sales USA, a Lincoln Mercury representative confirmed. No replacement has been named. A Toyota representative said Wahl was taking on a new position at the company, and her title will be corporate manager, marketing communications. Wahl will report to Steve Sturm, who remains Toyota Motor Sales USA's vice president of marketing. Fallon Adds $30 Mil. Purina O.N.E.CHICAGO—Ralston Purina awarded creative duties on its Purina O.N.E. dog and cat food accounts to Fallon, Minneapolis.The business was previously at Lowe Lintas & Partners in New York. Billings on the account were estimated at $30 million. Fallon also handles St. Louis-based Purina's Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Beneful and all dog and cat treat brands. The move to Fallon follows a roster-shop review [Adweek, Aug. 27]. Media is handled by Advanswers in St. Louis. Farmland Consolidates Ad AccountCHICAGO—Farmland Foods consolidated its adver tising at Bernstein-Rein in Kansas City. The move gives the Kansas City, Mo., agency responsibility for the company's beef products and Carando brand deli meats. The beef business was previously at Young & Rubicam, Chicago. Farmland spent $5 million on its beef and Carando products last year, according to CMR. 2 Vie for Minnesota Anti-Tobacco Work CHICAGO—The two agency finalists competing for the Minnesota Department of Health's $6-7 million annual anti-tobacco account will make creative presentations to the state's health commissioner, Jan Malcom, this week, according to a department representative. The two remaining agencies are Clarity Coverdale Fury and Gabriel deGrood Bendt, both in Minneapolis. Cut from the review were incumbent Campbell Mithun, Colle + McVoy and Periscope, all in Minneapolis. A decision is expected next week. Fallon Uses Muppet for Long John Silver'sCHICAGO—Fallon, Minneapolis, enlists Pepe the King Prawn from the Muppets for a new national advertising campaign for Long John Silver's tagged, "How can you resist?" The campaign depicts the extent to which the Latin-talking muppet will go to prove he can be the "official spokes-shrimp" for the Lexington, Ky.-based fast-food chain. Billings for the campaign were not disclosed, but the company spent $20 million on advertising last year, according to CMR. BBDO a Winner in Allied Domecq RealignmentCHICAGO—BBDO Chicago won global responsibilities for Allied Domecq's Beefeater, Stolichnaya and Kahlua brands. The agency had previously handled only U.S. chores for the brands. The move is part of a global realignment of all of Domecq's brands, with Bates landing duties on Ballantines and Tia Maria and dRush working on Courvoisier and Sauza tequila.
