CiCi’s Drops Ward in Media Shuffle

DALLAS—Ward Communications has been dropped from the roster of media agencies at CiCi’s Pizza. The move came after the Carollton, Texas-based client decided to reassign its broadcast buying to Southeast regional agencies Media Solutions in Atlanta and Wenstrom Communications in Tampa, Fla. CiCi’s total broadcast spending is estimated at $10 million. Ward was given the print portion of the account, “but we resigned [it] just so we wouldn’t have a competitive issue that would keep us from going after other business,” said Shirley Ward, president of the Dallas agency. CiCi’s creative is handled in-house.

Creative Juice! Gets TV, Print Assignments

DALLAS—Creative Juice! has picked up several new accounts and projects for the fourth quarter. The Lubbock, Texas, agency, in conjunction with sister company DesignWorks, has been handed a television and print campaign for First American Bank, which has 72 locations in Texas. The shop has also gained TV and print work for several hospital accounts in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, as well as from Citibus, Lubbock’s local transit system.

New Mexico Ad Fed Donates Services

DALLAS—Advertising and marketing services worth more than $115,00 have been donated to the newCommunity Foundation of Southern New Mexico by the Advertising Federation of Las Cruces. A campaign for the foundation created under the direction of Comcast Advertising in Las Cruces, N.M., will run through December. An Ad Fed spokesperson said the work represents the largest commitment the club has made to a community organization.

Agency Auctions Unused Ads on eBay

LOS ANGELES—Faced with orphaned campaigns due to clients going out of business, Mousetrap Advertising is looking to eBay to find a home for its work. The Pasadena, Calif., shop is auctioning off separate campaigns created for a bank, a jewelry store and a hospital’s patient information center. Each series was offered at a starting price of $10,000. At press time, the bank and jewelry store series had both received bids.

GM’s Interest-Free Offer Rolls On

DETROIT—General Motors is extending its “Keep America Rolling” interest-free finance program, originally scheduled to end Oct. 31, through Nov. 18. Nationaladvertising to support the program from McCann-Erickson in Troy, Mich., will end Oct. 31. Beginning on that date, each of GM’s divisional agencies will create ads specifically for their brands, a GM representative said.

All of Florida Lottery Goes Into Play

ATLANTA—The Florida Lottery has issued a solicitation to request proposals for its general market and Hispanic advertising and pubic relations accounts. Agencies will receive requests for proposals for the state-mandated review in December. Coral Gables, Fla.-based incumbent Cooper/Hayes, which has held the account for six years, will defend. Public relations incumbent Weber Shandwick, also located in Coral Cables, and Hispanic partner Sanchez & Levitan of Miami will also participate. Annual billings are estimated at $30 million.
