Contenders Emerge in Thomasville Review

ATLANTA—Two contenders have emerged in the early rounds of the review for Thomasville Furniture’s estimated $8 million marketing account. Sources familiar with the Thomasville, N.C.-based client have identified The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., and McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, N.C., as participants in the review, which is being handled internally. Other contenders, sources said, may emerge in the weeks ahead. Marketing executives at the furniture company, formerly marketed by Mullen/LHC in Winston-Salem, N.C., declined comment.

New Wins Recharge Voltage Factory

ATLANTA—The Voltage Factory has won the interactive marketing business of Pacific Seacraft and Longboat Global Advisors. The Atlanta e-commerce shop is charged with revamping Web-based sales and marketing strategies for Pacific Seacraft, a luxury yacht builder in Fullerton, Calif. Longboat Global, an investment firm in Bradenton, Fla., is looking for rebranding and online sales and marketing assistance.

RMR Gains Women’s Historical Site

ATLANTA—RMR & Associates has won the marketing business of the historic Sewall-Belmont House, a Washington, D.C., museum dedicated to the women’s rights movement. In 1916, the house, located on Capitol Hill, was headquarters for the National Women’s Party, a driving force in the suffragist movement. RMR, located in Rockville, Md., will provide marketing communications and promotional support.

Ex-Primedia Staffers Launch C2R

ATLANTA—C2R, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm, has opened here. Daniel Skahen, former managing director of Primedia, will serve as president and chief executive officer. Five other Primedia employees—Marty South, Peter Galbiati, Albert Bloser, Jennifer Nowicki and Alia Cory—have joined C2R, an acronym for “concept-to-reality” marketing. The new shop is affiliated with JDC Marketing, an outdoor sports marketing company in Norcross, Ga.

Headline Group Acquires 3 Clients

ATLANTA—The Headline Group has added Discover Mills, Country Hearth Inns and Tiffany & Co. to its client roster. Discover Mills, a retail, dining and entertainment venue, has hired the Atlanta-based company to support its grand opening this fall. Country Hearth Inns is a division of Atlanta’s Buckhead America Corp. The Headline Group will provide media relations and marketing assistance to Tiffany’s Atlanta location.

Boeing’s $60 Mil. Account Is in Review

LOS ANGELES—Boeing, seeking a global agency with a full-service office in Chicago, has put its $60 million ad account into review. The review comes as the aerospace company prepares to move its corporate headquarters from Seattle to Chicago this fall. FCB in Seattle has handled the account for a year; its Chicago office will defend. A dozen agencies will be invited to participate in the review, said search consultant Bob Wolf of Bob Wolf Partners in Los Angeles.
