Ogilvy, BBDO Reach Finals for Kimberly-Clark
CHICAGO–Kimberly-Clark has narrowed the review for its estimated $30 million global feminine care business to Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago, and BBDO, New York, sources said. Ogilvy’s New York office is the incumbent on the business. Eliminated were Foote, Cone & Belding here; Young & Rubicam, New York; and Temerlin McClain, Dallas.
McCann, KB&D Partner for Caesars Pitch
DETROIT–McCann-Erickson’s Troy, Mich., office has joined forces with Kolon, Bittker & Desmond, a retail agency in Troy, to pitch the $40 million Little Caesars account. The McCann/KB&D team was added to the review last week after Fallon McElligott in Minneapolis withdrew, citing a heavy workload. Bozell’s Southfield, Mich., office and Grey Advertising, New York, are the other finalists. Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York is the incumbent.
Fila USA Ponders Agency Search
NEW YORK–Fila USA is considering whether to launch a review for its $15-20 million ad account or assign project work to several shops, said Howe Burch, senior vice president of advertising and sports marketing for the company. Arnell Group Brand Consulting here resigned the business last week after winning creative duties on Tommy Hilfiger’s estimated $30-40 million account.
Y&R Joins Kellogg’s Roster
NEW YORK–Young & Rubicam here has joined the roster of Kellogg of Battle Creek, Mich., winning a $20 million-plus account to launch a new product line, beating out at least three other shops, sources said. Both the client and Y&R declined comment. J. Walter Thompson here and Leo Burnett, Chicago, are the client’s roster shops.
Omnicom Acquires U.K. Sales Promotion Shop
NEW YORK–Omnicom Group has acquired Claydon Heely, a large, independent sales promotion agency in London, sources said. The agency will become part of the holding company’s diversified agency services division.

E. & J. Gallo has consolidated creative chores for all its wine brands with lead agency Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco, bringing the shop’s total Gallo billings to $25-30 million . . . Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano, New York, is splitting with Guerlain, agency officials confirmed. Weiss, Whitten teamed with Australie, Paris, in 1995 to win Guerlain’s estimated $30 million global account. The client is conducting a review that includes Australie, TBWA Paris and an independent art director, said sources. The client said it no longer requires a U.S. agency . . . Leo Burnett, Chicago, recently completed an undisclosed project for Gateway 2000, and sources said the computer maker is currently shopping a business-to-business assignment. D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in Los Angeles is the lead shop . . . Grey Advertising, New York, has been awarded the estimated $15-20 million direct-to-consumer ad account of Zeneca Pharmaceuticals for its recently approved migraine treatment drug, Zomig.
