A Temerlin McClain in MangoSoft Finals
BOSTON–MangoSoft Corp. has narrowed the field of contenders competing for its $20-25 million advertising account to three agencies. The Westborough, Mass., software company will see final presentations from Temerlin McClain in Dallas; Mullen of Wenham, Mass.; and The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., according to Pile and Co., the Boston-based search consultant conducting the review. Cut from consideration were Doremus, Gotham and Grey Advertising, all of New York.
A 4A’s Names Officers, O’Toole Winners
DALLAS–The American Association of Advertising Agencies elected officers and board members for 2000-2001 at its recent management conference. Newly named directors for the southern region are Tim McClure, executive vice president and chief creative officer at GSD&M in Austin, Texas, and Lee Trone, chairman of Trone Advertising in Highpoint, N.C. Separately, Ornelas & Associates won second-place honors in the 4A’s O’Toole Awards competition. The Dallas shop was cited for overall excellence in the Hispanic-American agency category.
A Telares Picks Pyro Brand Development
DALLAS–Pyro Brand Development will launch an inaugural advertising campaign this month for Telares, a revenue-sharing consortium of local and regional Internet service providers (ISPs). Through bulk-purchasing, the Dallas client offers smaller ISPs affordable access to in-demand services that are available from major national providers. Pyro, also in Dallas, will conduct an online and print campaign in trade publications.
A BankDirect Taps Avenue A for New Media
DALLAS–BankDirect has hired Avenue A as its online media and Internet marketing agency. The
Seattle agency will be responsible for a $1.2 million media planning and buying account. The marketing program’s mission is to heighten brand awareness and attract customers. Dallas-based BankDirect last year launched an introductory national print and radio advertising campaign with creative from Levenson & Hill of Dallas. BankDirect, a division of Texas Capital Bank, offers a wide range of consumer banking services over the Internet.
A Rizzuti.com Gains MigraTEC’s Account
DALLAS–MigraTEC, a provider of tools to automate transfers and upgrades of software programs, has appointed Rizzuti.com its direct response marketing and advertising agency. Dallas-based Rizzutti handles other high-tech clients such as Jobs.com, GoldMine Software and Sky-TV. The Dallas client also named technology-focused PRTek as its public relations agency.
A TN Consolidates FCB Impact Under MDW
CHICAGO–FCB Impact, promotions arm of the Chicago-based agency, is becoming part of Marketing Drive Worldwide, a unit of True North Diversified Cos.
