Dairy Management Narrows Search to 4 Shops
CHICAGO–Dairy Management in Rosemont, Ill., has selected four agencies to compete for creative duties on its $29 million cheese account. Leap Group Reports Net Loss
CHICAGO–The Leap Group here reported a net loss of $18.3 million, or $1.34 per share, for its fiscal year ending Jan. 31. Revenues of $35.9 million were up 17.2 percent from 1997, when the company posted a $5.6 million loss. The majority of the 1998 shortfall was attributed to a write-off from YAR Communications and a deferred tax asset reserve charge reported earlier in the year. Leap today also reported fourth-quarter consolidated revenues of $8.14 million, a 28.8 percent decrease from $11.4 million for the same quarter in ’98. Leap’s fourth-quarter results included a net loss of $1.82 million or 13 cents per share.
Gage Buys Imation Internet
CHICAGO–Promotions agency Gage Marketing Group in Minneapolis has bought Imation Internet Studio, a division of Imation Corp., in partnership with the Internet company’s principals Scott Litman and Dan Mallin. The company, renamed Imaginet, will operate as an indpendent subsidiary of Gage to create new business opportunities for Fortune 1,000 companies, officials said.

ATLANTA–C3, Research Tiangle Park, N.C., manufacturer of the proprietary lab-created diamond moissanite, has named Barber Martin & Associates as its new agency. The Richmond, Va., shop won the $1.5 million account over FGI of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Trone Advertising of High Point, N.C.; and Northlich Stolley LaWarre in Cincinnati. The account was at DDB Needham Dallas.
