A Royal Caribbean Splits Media Planning, Buying
NEW YORK–Media Edge has been awarded media buying for both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise lines by Royal Caribbean International. The lone exception is international print buys for Royal Caribbean, which will be performed by Arnold Communications in Boston. Media planning, however, remains with creative shops Arnold for Royal Caribbean and Saatchi & Saatchi in New York for Celebrity. The overall budget for the Miami-based parent is estimated at $40 million.
A Cohn & Wolfe Founder Becomes 360 Chairman
ATLANTA–Bob Cohn, founder of Cohn & Wolfe here, has been named chairman of niche marketing agency 360. Jim Overstreet, previously C&W’s vice chairman and general manager, joins 360 as executive vice president. The Atlanta shop’s principals, Joel Babbitt and Mark Goldman, retain their chief executive and president titles, respectively, as well as sole proprietary interest. “A year ago, I decided to work 25 percent of the time for 25 percent of the money,” Cohn said. “At the end of that period . . . I made a proposition to [C&W] where I would come back full time, but they didn’t want that. So I made a phone call and Joel jumped at it.”
A Siddall, Matus & Coughter’s President Resigns
ATLANTA–John W. Martin has resigned as president of Siddall, Matus & Coughter to join agency client PBM Products as senior vice president of marketing and creative services, effective at the end of January. His Gordonsville, Va., employer is a packaged-goods marketer. There are no immediate plans to replace Martin, said the Richmond, Va., shop’s Pam DiSalvo Lepley, who added that his duties will be assumed by the staff.

ATLANTA–LifeBridge Health has assigned the advertising and marketing communications for its four healthcare facilities to Richardson, Myers & Donofrio. The client and agency are both based in Baltimore.
A Hasse Arrives at Orlando’s Fry/Hammond/Barr
ATLANTA–Fry/Hammond/Barr has hired Gordon Hasse, whose branding and writing credits include Bayer and Nabisco, as associate creative director. Before joining the Orlando, Fla., shop, Hasse was senior vice president and senior creative director at Foote Cone & Belding in New York.
A Trone Lands KOZ.com, New Account Director
ATLANTA–Trone Advertising has hired R. Ross Harris as its first senior vice president and group account director. She will oversee a number of accounts, including the Greensboro, N.C., shop’s newest client, KOZ.com, which is positioning itself as “the world’s largest online community network.” Billings for the Research Triangle Park, N.C., client were not disclosed.
A Richmond Ad Club Wins N.Y. Festival Award
ATLANTA–The New York Festival has awarded a World Medal to the Advertising Club of Richmond’s ad for Campaign Virginia. The city’s Picture Radio and The King Agency of Richmond, Va., created the TV spot.
