CMGI Buys Flycast
BOSTON–Internet venture capitalist CMGI continued its acquisition frenzy by snapping up San Francisco-based Flycast Communications, a provider of Web-based direct response advertising solutions, in a $704 million stock swap. Flycast joins AdForce, AdKnowledge, Adsmart, Engage and I/PRO in the CMGI fold. Andover, Mass.-based CMGI said Flycast, which helps clients plan online ad campaigns and sells ad space on a network of Web sites, will be included in its stable of online marketing and advertising companies.
