– J.C. Penney Has a Short List of Contenders
DALLAS–Department store chain J.C. Penney has contacted five agencies to participate in a review for its $100 million advertising account following its recent split with Temerlin McClain. Invited to the competition are BBDO Worldwide, DDB Worldwide, McCann-Erickson Worldwide and Saatchi & Saatchi, all New York, plus an undetermined agency to represent True North Communications of Chicago. “We’re going to let them come back to us and tell us who they think would be best,” said spokesperson Stephanie Brown of True North, the parent company of Temerlin, Irving, Texas.
