DALLAS–TFA/Leo Burnett Technology Group has been awarded the brand development business of HushMail.Com. Billings were not disclosed by the client nor the Austin, Texas, agency. Headquartered in British West Indies, HushMail.Com provides a Web-based encryption service that makes e-mail messages unreadable to anyone but the sender and receiver. Users can establish a free HushMail account by accessing the company’s Web site.

SAN FRANCISCO– will put its online advertising duties into review following this week’s resignation of the business by Left Field Advertising, said sources. The account is estimated to be worth at least $5 million. The San Francisco shop dropped the online book and music retailer because of dwindling creative opportunities due primarily to the client’s increased focus on offline ad efforts, said agency executives. Lead shop Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco has not yet been contacted about participating in the review for Seattle-based’s online business, said sources. The client did not return phone calls at press time late last week.
Harwell Purchases Paradigm Communications
ATLANTA–Paradigm Communications has been purchased by the owner of Harwell Advertising & Public Relations. Chris Harwell, owner of the $18 million Lakeland, Fla., agency that bears his name, paired with Paradigm Communications’ creative director, Doug Hardee, to acquire the $48 million operation. Harwell, who will be chairman and chief executive officer, said his plan is for Paradigm to be the center of a creative network of Florida agencies. He has created a holding company, Lord & Lasker, to build that network along Central Florida’s I-4 corridor, and is in discussions with four other in-state agencies to further that strategy. The Tampa, Fla., shop’s previous owners, Vince Fabrizzi and Dan Furlong, will retain ownership of agency spinoffs Teledigm, Ovation and Compass, which provide telemarketing, software and direct mail products, respectively. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
