Flowers & Fedele Partner to Depart

DALLAS—After eight years as creative director and partner, Anthony Fedele is leaving Flowers & Fedele to become an independent consultant, effective Dec. 31. The Dallas agency, now to be known as Flowers & Partners, has said it will initiate a search for a new creative director. A spokesperson said Fedele, a former promoter for Hollywood stars such as Larry Hagman and Clint Eastwood, wanted to devote more time to his promotional activities on the West Coast. The 15-person agency was founded in 1984 by Paul Flowers.

Raze Technologies Appoints M/C/C

DALLAS—M/C/C has expanded its client roster with the addition of Raze Technologies, a wireless broadband equipment and services provider. The Dallas agency embarked on a $1 million campaign for its Plano, Texas-based client last month with an analyst and media tour. A business-to-business campaign will include market planning, press materials and trade show support.

Express-News Inks Creative Civilization

DALLAS—Creative Civilization—An Aguilar Agency has been designated Hispanic agency of record for the San Antonio Express-News. The selection was made following a review of local agencies. The more than $1 million advertising account represents the first targeted effort the newspaper has made to Latinos in a city whose population is 60 percent Hispanic. The Express-News plans to expand its Hispanic editorial coverage and implement Latino-targeted advertising, promotions, special events and public relations.

Deli Awards Media to Bouvier Kelly

ATLANTA—Schlotzsky’s Deli has chosen Bouvier Kelly to provide media services for its restaurants in North Carolina. The Greensboro, N.C., shop will represent the Austin, Texas-based restaurant’s four local ad groups in North Carolina. The agency will plan and buy television, print and radio media throughout the state. The budget is undisclosed. There are 25 restaurants in the area.

Texans Remain in Review for Inflow

CHICAGO—Carmichael Lynch and Martin/Williams have dropped out of the review for Inflow’s $12-15 million advertising account, agency officials said. Still in the hunt for the Web-hosting company’s business are Dallas shops Square One and The Richards Group; Temerlin McClain of Irving, Texas; and Hunt Adkins in Minneapolis. Consultant Jan Apple in Minnetonka, Minn., is conducting the review for the Denver client.

Choice Hotels Chooses 4 Finalists

ATLANTA—Choice Hotels International has narrowed the field in the review for its $35-40 million account. The four finalists: Arnold Worldwide, McLean, Va.; and Avrett, Free & Ginsberg; Bozell Kamstra; and Deutsch, all in New York. The next step is a creative pitch to be held in mid-January, according to consultant Laura Bajkowsky of Bajkowsky & Partners, also in New York. A decision is expected in late January. The Silver Spring, Md.-based hotel chain operates mid-priced Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Sleep Inns among its franchises.
