Ogilvy Drops Out of Pearle Review





CHICAGO–Ogilvy & Mather here has withdrawn from the review for Pearle Vision Centers’ $25 million ad account, sources said. Ogilvy client Sears, Roebuck & Co. voiced conflict concerns, even though Pearle parent Cole National operates Sears’ in-store optical departments. Remaining finalists are: W. B Doner & Co., Southfield, Mich.; Publicis/Bloom, Dallas; and McCann-Erickson; New York. Incumbent GSD&M, Austin, Texas, is not participating.

CHICAGO–Finalists in a review for the estimated $16 million account of Sara Lee’s Playtex Apparel division are: incumbent Grey Advertising, Lowe & Partners/SMS and Gotham, all New York; and DDB Needham, Chicago, sources said last week.
