SAN FRANCISCO-CNet has awarded its $40-45 million account to Citron Haligman Bedecarr Euro RSCG here, as expected, sources said [Adweek, May 24]. The agency will handle national branding work, with new spots slated for production in mid-June. The account was awarded after a review of about 20 agencies, primarily in San Francisco, where CNet is based. Agency and client officials declined to comment.

SAN FRANCISCO-Jack Boland, former president and chief executive of Foote, Cone & Belding here has joined Pickett Communications, San Francisco, as president and equity partner. The agency’s clients include Sterling Vineyards, Netcom and Symantec. Boland resigned from FCB earlier this year after 20 years at the agency.

LOS ANGELES-Suissa Miller, Los Angeles, has picked up the entire estimated $10 million-plus Golden Grain account after Young & Rubicam, San Francisco, parted with the Pleasanton, Calif., client last week. Suissa Miller has been working on a new product launch for the Quaker Oats division. It now adds ad duties for the Rice-A-Roni, Pasta Roni and Near East brands.

“Coco’s Moves to JWT West After Quiet Review
LOS ANGELES-Coco’s restaurants has named J. Walter Thompson West, San Francisco, its agency after a two-month review involving undisclosed shops. Campbell-Ewald/West, Los Angeles, which handled the $10 million account for about a year, parted ways with the client earlier this month. The review was called as a result of strategic changes at the Irvine, Calif., client, said sources. Executives with JWT West said they will develop a brand campaign to break later this year for the 480-unit family-style restaurant chain.
