Bay Networks Renews ReviewBOSTON--For the second time in less than a year, Bay Networks in Santa Clara, Calif., has called an agency review. A contest for the networking company's creative assignment last year was scrapped, and the account was reassigned to incumbent Euro RSCG Dahlin Smith White in Salt Lake City. Both creative, handled by Dahlin, and media, handled by Freeman Associates in Wellesley, Mass., were put into play Ãlast week, said a company representative. Dahlin has declined to participate, though Freeman is expected to defend its portion of the account. Bay Networks is looking for an agency with global marketing expertise and is not using an outside consultant in the current review, the representative said. Total annual billings were estimated in the $10-12 million range.Petro Alters Contender ListNEW YORK--Petroleum Heat & Power has changed the list of contenders for its $1-2 million ad account. Allen Levenson, vice president of advertising for the Stamford, Conn.-based company, said the five contenders are: Korey Kay & Partners, Berenter Greenhouse & Webster, Grybauskas Beatrice, Levinson/GFS Group and The Ad Store, a new participant. Levenson said the company is no longer considering Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners by mutual agreement. The agency, meanwhile, said it had initial discussions with the client but would not pitch.Reebok Airs Burnett SpotsBOSTON--Reebok International in Stoughton, Mass., formed a multiyear alliance with the Women's National Basketball Association beginning this month. New commercials created by Leo Burnett in Chicago featuring the New York Liberty's Rebecca Lobo and her signature shoe, 'The Lobo,' aired last week during the NBA championships. Agency and client have since split up.Lindt Selects Providence ShopBOSTON--Leonard/Monahan has won the Lindt & Sprungli account, sources said. The Providence, R.I.-based shop competed with Ingalls Advertising in Boston for the estimated $1 million account. Lindt & Sprungli is a Swiss chocolate maker based in the U.S. in Stratham, N.H.Globe Travel Manager Launches FirmBOSTON--Former Boston Globe travel advertising manager Cynthia Asbell recently established Cross World Marketing, a travel marketing firm, in Boston.The shop will focus on producing travel supplements, which will be distributed through national magazines and newspapers.
