TJX Cos. has awarded creative chores for its $4-5 million Homegoods account to Allen & Gerritsen, the client said on Thursday.

Watertown, Mass.-based Allen & Gerritsen bested Cronin & Co., Glastonbury, Conn., and Partners & Simons, Boston, in the final round of a review, the client said. Media chores, handled by Pro Media, Needham, Mass., were not included in the pitch.

Homegoods currently operates about 80 stores specializing in housewares, but has aggressive national expansion plans and intends to have more than 500 total locations in the next decade, the representative said.
