Petroleum Heat & Power Co., Stamford, Conn., has named five semifinalists, all in New York, in the review for its $1-2 million ad account.

In contention are Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners; Korey, Kay & Partners; Berenter Greenhouse & Webster; Grybauskas Beatrice; and Levinson/GFS, said Allen Levenson, vice president of advertising at Petro.

Finalists will be named in the next few weeks, with a decision expected by month’s end. The winner will succeed Corporate Branding Partnership, also in Stamford, which was not invited to compete, Levenson said.

The client wants a new brand direction for an upcoming print and broadcast campaign that will run in nine northeastern states including New York and Massachusetts, Levenson said.
