Hilton Departs Evans/MBRK To Be CD at Bozell in Texas, Ohio

Dallas agency creative veteran Kerry Hilton has been hired to oversee expanded trade-oriented marketing assignments at two regional offices of Minneapolis-based Bozell Kamstra.
Hilton, most recently co-executive creative director at Evans/MBRK here, will be creative director for Bozell Kamstra’s Austin, Texas, and Cleveland branches. He will commute regularly between both offices.
Hilton takes the new post less than a year after being hired at what was then MBRK. Hilton subsequently split creative duties with Kevin Mote, stemming from the December merger of MBRK and the Dallas office of Salt Lake City-based EvansGroup.
Prior to Evans/MBRK, Hilton was a principal in the Dallas office of Houston-based BRSG. Hilton said the chance to get in on the ground floor of a new category push for Bozell, plus working with Bozell Worldwide vice chairman Ron Anderson, were major draws.
Evans/MBRK principal George Michael said Hilton’s departure will leave its creative operation in the hands of Mote, who retains his executive creative director’s title.
“Basically, we had two very strong creative directors, and we planned to keep both of them,” said Michael.
“I can’t say enough good things about Evans/MBRK, and I had a great relationship with them,” said Hilton. “But this was what I thought was a greater opportunity for myself.”
