Bill Hillsman, a Minneapolis adman well known for his political advertising on behalf of Minnesota Sen. Paul Wellstone and Minneapolis mayor Sharon Sayles Benton, has joined Kruskopf Olson as a managing director and minority partner.
Hillsman will continue in his role as president of North Woods Advertising, which specializes in political advertising and sports marketing. KO president and creative director Susan Kruskopf said she saw no conflict arising from Hillsman’s dual-agency employment because he will focus on developing consumer-targeted advertising, not political work, for KO.
“As we’ve known each other, he’s come across business that he can’t serve through North Woods,” Kruskopf said, stressing the agencies have two separate agendas.
