No news was good news on Wall Street last week, as both major stock indexes had their best weeks in more than six months amid a dearth of major financial news. The Dow Jones industrial average slipped a bit on Friday, but for the week it was up 332 points, or slightly more than 3 percent, closing at 10,471.91. The weekly gain was the Dow’s best since early November. The Nasdaq finished at 2,046.42, up nearly 4 percent—its highest weekly gain since August.
