BOSTON Havas returned to profitability in 2002, posting full-year net income of about $25.7 million, based on the current rate of exchange. In 2001, the Paris-based holding company recorded a loss of approximately $60 million.

Full-year revenue was about $2.15 billion, based on the current rate of exchange, down about 7% from 2001.

Havas chairman and CEO Alain de Pouzilhac said in a prepared statement that he was “very pleased with our 2002 results” in light of “the difficult environment” in terms of the global economy and agency business in general.
