Hampton Shows Its ‘Love’ for Travelers

CHICAGO Hampton, a division of Hilton Hotels, will continue its “We love having you here” campaign next week with a $7.5 million TV and print push.

The effort, from Interpublic Group shop Foote Cone & Belding in Chicago, broke over the weekend on ESPN, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. Print will run in publications such as USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

The spot incorporates upbeat lyrics and a montage of scenes showing business travelers taking advantage of amenities like high-speed Internet, an “On the House” hot breakfast and the “On the Run” breakfast bag. It claims that these services help road warriors by keeping them “on their game.”

Hampton, which includes 1,200 Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites competing in the mid-priced lodging tier, saw online bookings last month increase 40 percent above December 2003, thanks to marketing and e-business efforts and enhancements, according to Judy Christa-Cathey, vice president, Hampton brand marketing.
