Independent Eleven has named Karen Polsky Halstead director of communications strategy. Halstead arrives from Universal McCann, San Francisco, where she has been managing director since 2003 and directed media for Microsoft, among others. Halstead reunites with Eleven president Courtney Buechert, former evp, general manager of McCann Erickson. Halstead’s background includes a stint as media director at TBWA\Chiat\Day’s San Francisco office on Levi’s.
