Guerin Becomes Lowe’s Account Chief

NEW YORK Lowe New York president Sal Taibi has tapped former Arnold group director Thomas Guerin director of account management.

Guerin, who will also carry the title of executive vice president, succeeds Taibi, who in January rose to president.

At Arnold in Boston, Guerin, 42, managed the shop’s Fidelity Investments business. Earlier in his career, he worked at McCann Erickson and BBDO on brands such as Unilever, Nestle, Charles Schwab, Visa and Gillette.

At Lowe, Guerin will lead a department of about 75 and manage the EarthLink business and the U.S. pieces of two global accounts: Ricoh and Nokia. He reports to Taibi, who described him as a “great addition” to the Interpublic Group shop.

Other Lowe clients include Johnson & Johnson, General Motors (GMC, Saab), Unilever (Degree) and Milk PEP/Milk DMI. The shop won EarthLink’s $50 million creative account last week [Adweek Online, March 8].
