DALLAS, TEXAS – GTE Telephone Operations said Friday it has assigned ‘selected marketing communications programs’ to Temerlin McClain here. DDB Needham will remain primary agency of record, but TM will become responsible for developing a national program for GTE’s pay telephone business and, on a regional basis, programs for GTE’s custom calling services. No billings were released, and it was not clear if these assignments were new or previously handled by DDB. No billings were released, though sources said billings for the TM assignment are estimated at $10-20 million.
