GSD&M Hires Postaer as Group Creative Director

Goodby Vet to Share Workload on Land Rover, Southwest Airlines
DALLAS–GSD&M has recruited freelance talent Jeremy Postaer as group creative account director for two of its major accounts: Land Rover and Southwest Airlines.
The formerly San Francisco-based Postaer, 37, recently worked on accounts including Mercedes-Benz for Merkley Newman Harty in New York and Game Show Network and for TWBA\Chiat\Day in San Francisco.
Prior to his freelancing career, Postaer spent 10 years at Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, where he worked on nearly every client’s advertising at the agency. Some of his account experience there included E*Trade, Bell Helmets, DHL shipping, Nike, Porsche and Partnership for a Drug-Free America. His last title at Goodby was associate creative director.
Postaer will share duties on the two GSD&M accounts with group creative director David Crawford.
“I think the idea was we could creative direct together but also divide and conquer–keep one or the other of us from getting swamped,” said Postaer.
Postaer, who switched from art direction to writing when he became a freelancer, was approached by the Austin, Texas, agency via a headhunter.
“GSD&M is really good at winning business and coming up with smart positioning ideas for clients,” Postaer said. “I think the struggle for any agency is once you win the business, how do you keep the work interesting and smart?”
“Jeremy has worked on outstanding campaigns and at shops whose work we admire. He’ll be a great addition to our creative staff,” said John Glenn, vice president and director of creative operations at GSD&M.
Postaer’s industry honors in-clude a 1999 silver award at The One Show in New York for E*Trade; the 1993 Marget Larsen Award for Art Direction from the San Francisco Ad Club; and a 1994 gold Effie for Partnership for a Drug Free-America. He is the son of Larry Postaer, a principal of Rubin Postaer & Associates in Santa Monica, Calif. K
