DALLAS Mythos Studios, the filmmaking arm of ad agency GSD&M, has launched production of a documentary tentatively titled SlamChannel after acquiring funding to back the project.

The film, which executive producer Tim McClure calls a “slam-umentary,” will follow a team of Austin, Texas, poets and their New York counterparts as they prepare for and compete in the National Poetry Slam in St. Louis, Aug. 3-8. The national championship is expected to draw 80 teams competing in the art form that is rapidly gaining popularity.
