NEW YORK–Griffin Bacal has new toy business. The shop, which is recovering from the losses of the Playskool and Discovery Zone accounts last year, has won the estimated $8 million account of K’Nex Industries. The Hatfield, Pa.-based company makes a toy line with interlocking plastic pieces.

Griffin Bacal president Paul Kurnit said K’Nex toys offer ‘a more sophisticated building experience’ than industry leader Lego. ‘Not only is K’Nex squarely in our area of expertise, but it’s a great product–an innovative building system,’ he said.

The shop defeated two other agencies for the account in a review that began about a month ago.
