Granger Takes Top Creative Spot at Saatchi

NEW YORK Tony Granger, managing partner and executive creative director at Bozell, is leaving the New York agency for the top creative post at Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi in London, sources said.

He will fill the spot that is being vacated by David Droga, who in December accepted the worldwide creative director job at sibling network Publicis Worldwide. Droga, who is currently executive creative director at Saatchi, starts his new job on March 1. He will be based in New York.

Granger is scheduled to take on his new role April 2.

Under his direction, Bozell won five Lions at Cannes last year for The New York Times, Datek, The Art Director’s Club and “Got Milk?”. He will be succeeded at the Interpublic Group shop by David Nobay, who was promoted from group creative director to deputy ecd in November, sources said.

Granger joined Bozell two years ago from TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was co-creative director working on BMW, Bic pens and Playtex’s Wonderbra, among others.

Bozell could not be reached for comment.

NOTE Due to an editing error, an earlier version of this story indicated that Granger would be based in New York. He will be based in London.
