With the U.K. government highlighting a continued digital skills shortage, Google is promoting its self-imposed mission to upskill people through a campaign encouraging them to take up its free flexible career and business skills training.

Released in June, the U.K.’s Digital Strategy document highlighted the lack of digital skills across the nation, with 30% of job vacancies due to an inability to recruit people with the basic knowledge required. This skills gap is estimated to cost the economy $72.5
