Goodby, BBDO West Win Pepsi’s Non-Cola Duties And ‘Storm’

SAN FRANCISCO-Pepsi-Cola has split its $30 million-plus non-cola account between Omnicom agencies Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, and BBDO West, Los Angeles.
Goodby, Silverstein won overseas creative duties for 7UP and Mirinda, a fruit-flavored drink. BBDO will handle creative development for Aquafina bottled water in the U.S. and new products, including a new lemon-lime soft drink for the U.S., code-named Storm. The ad budget for Storm has not yet been determined. The pitch focused on Aquafina and Storm, sources said. The winner of the media duties was unknown at press time. BBDO handles media chores for most Pepsi drinks.
The third finalist for the business was J. Walter Thompson in New York. Incumbent Ogilvy & Mather, also in New York, declined to defend.
