Goldman Succeeds Jurmain as Media Chief at Lowe

NEW YORK Alan Jurmain, the longtime head of the media department at IPG’s Lowe is leaving “to pursue some other opportunities,” U.S. CEO Tom Bernardin said on Wednesday. Another Lowe veteran, director of broadcast buying Elissa Goldman, who becomes evp, director of media services, will succeed him.

Jurmain, 47, will remain at the New York shop for another month to ease the transition. After that, he plans to take some time off before plotting his next move. “I’ve worked with something like 40 of the top 50 Fortune 500 companies,” he said, referring to his clients over a 26-year career. “I just want to do something that’s relevant.”

Goldman, 45, will oversee 62 people in the full-service department and continue to steer broadcast buying. She has spent 23 years at Lowe.

At the same time, Lowe is promoting Lillian Kennedy to the new post of evp, director of media planning. Kennedy, 50, was managing partner, media director at IPG’s Bozell before that shop merged with Lowe in February. In her new role, she reports to Goldman.
