Gold Bond Marketing

Tomorrow Never Dies, the James Bond flick starring Pierce Brosnan, has won the Charles M. Powell Award for Best Marketed Motion Picture of 1997.
The MGM/UA film, which was backed by a $100 million-plus marketing budget, received the award from the Los Angeles-based Film Information Council.
Tomorrow drew an enormous amount of media attention for its marketing partnerships with BMW, Ericsson cellular phones, Smirnoff vodka and Heineken beer, among others.
The Powell award was created in 1993 in honor of the late marketing leader, who spent 32 years in the entertainment industry as head of marketing for such studios as Columbia, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and MCA/Universal.
Tomorrow Never Dies has grossed $310 million in box office receipts so far, but has yet to be released in Japan, the second largest international market.
