According to Nielsen NetRatings, Milpitas, Calif., and Harris Interactive e-CommercePulse, Rochester, N.Y., Americans spent $1.2 billion this past January booking airplane flights online. The figure is significant because it accounts for almost a third of all U.S. e-commerce transactions. Most people did their shopping at travelocity.com, followed by sites for Southwest, Expedia, Priceline and Delta.
