GOING THE DISTANCE





National City Corp. based in Cleveland, is launching its first corporate advertising campaign this week following the consolidation of its 34 affiliate retail banks under one name, one logo and one marketing strategy.
The campaign carries the tag, ‘We’re going the distance for you.’ The theme of the ads is that throughout various stages of life people find themselves with goals that take financial backing.
‘It’s a concept that most people can relate to,’ said Thomas Woodbery, National City vp/advertising manager. ‘It’s our first opportunity to create an impression with our customers.’
Three TV ads break in five markets this week. One promotes consumer loans, another talks about home equity loans and a third is an image ad. Print and radio ads support the message and outdoor is expected to break later this year.
