10,000: Number of silver mylar packages stamped with the slogan “Wear me out” that are being given to customers outside Selfridges, the stylish department store on Oxford Street in London. The slogan has a double meaning: The packages, courtesy of Kenneth Cole, contain samples of the designer’s first fragrances —Kenneth Cole New York Men and Kenneth Cole New York Women—as well as condoms to encourage people to protect themselves and stay AIDS-free in 2003.

40,000: Expected weight, in pounds, of a cookie that will be baked May 17 in Hendersonville, N.C., by the Immaculate Baking Co. It will be cut up and sold, with proceeds benefiting the Folk Art Museum, which is set to be built next to the bakery. The cookie, expected to be the world’s largest, will be 100 feet wide. The ingredients will include 30,000 eggs, 12,200 pounds of flour and more than 13,000,000 individual chocolate chunks. “There’s no question that this cookie will taste great,” says Immaculate’s CEO. No word yet on whether Jeff Manning and his “Got milk?” team will be getting involved.
