GM Shuffles Marketing Ranks

NEW YORK General Motors said it has made several executive appointments and shifts in the GM North America vehicle sales, service and marketing organization.

In the most significant change, Mike Jackson, GMNA Western regional general manager in Los Angeles, will replace Brent Dewar, currently GMNA vp of marketing and advertising. Dewar will become GMNA vp of field sales, service and parts, replacing Pete Gerosa, who will move to a special assignment pending his retirement later this year.

“Brent brings tremendous experience to his new job. Besides his assignments in Brazil and Canada, he has worked in the field in the United States in several jobs and has been general manager of Chevrolet,” said GM CEO and chairman Rick Wagoner, in a statement. “In his current assignment, Mike has led the team that has helped GM gain back market share in California. He’s built strong relationships with dealers and employees in creating marketing initiatives, all of which should prove especially useful as we focus on additional key markets where we need to improve GM’s performance.”

GM also made other, additional appointments. All the changes are effective March 1. They are:

Susan Docherty, general manager of Hummer, will succeed Jackson as Western regional general manager.

Martin Walsh, executive director of sales and marketing support, will become general manager of Hummer.

Larry Hice, South Central regional general manager in Dallas, will become executive director of sales and marketing support.

Kurt McNeil, Western regional sales manager, will become South Central regional general manager.
