DALLAS General Motors last week sent letters to eight agencies that are semifinalists for the Hummer business, a company official said.
The agencies include GM roster shops and nonroster shops. Credential presentations will take place Aug. 3-8 in Detroit, followed by a cut to finalists. Those shops will be given a strategic and creative assignment with a decision in the fall.
The selected agency will launch a smaller, more street-friendly version of the Humvee in 2002.
GM acquired the Hummer brand last year.
