Giant Step, the Chicago-based i-shop whose founders, Eric and Adam Heneghan, stepped down in January, has laid off 52 of its nearly 230 employees.

Giant Step’s 23 percent cut in payroll follows parent Leo Burnett’s decision to lay off roughly 200 staffers in February.

According to a Bcom3 spokeswoman, Giant Step continues to be led by a team consisting primarily of Giant Step management. She said no plans have been made yet to replace the brothers Heneghan, who founded the i-shop in 1991.
