Friskies Releases Video Games for Cats

The cat food maker created feline-friendly games for tablets

Your iPad is about to get pawed, if Friskies gets their way with it.

The cat food purveyor has released three interactive tablet games for cats. You read that correctly: video games for cats.

In a statement released last week, the company announces that, "Friskies is excited to feed your cats’ senses with three new games made just for cats. The colors, movement, and game-play have been researched and tested for maximum feline fun."

If yarn is just too old school for your precious Mittens, these new "Games for Cats" will let her engage the screen of your iPad or Android by batting at moving shapes (digital fish, animated treats and the like).

Titles inclued "Cat Fishing," "Tasty Treasures Hunt" and "Party Mix-Up," and have been designed "based on research of cats' senses and how they react to different stimuli." (And Friskies reassures owners that iPad and Android screens are sturdy enough to withstand scratches from cats' claws.)

Check out a video of the game in action and decide for yourself if the idea is pitch purrrrfect … or an utter cat-astrophe.
