NEW YORK Arnaud Lagardere has been named Media Person of the Year by the International Advertising Festival at Cannes.

Lagardere, 43, is chairman and CEO of the Lagardere Group, a global publishing company whose 231 titles in 36 countries include magazines such as Elle and Marie Claire. The Paris-based firm also owns radio and TV properties.

He will be presented the award, which honors leadership and vision in the media industry, on June 22 during the Media Lions and Lions Direct Awards ceremony.
