Freed Will Create Game Plan For ‘America’s Home Team’

Freed Advertising in Houston topped four agencies to land the Houston-area account of American Residential Services of Texas.
First-year account billings for American Residential Services (ARS), a home electric, plumbing, heating, cooling and appliance repair company, are $1.6 million.
ARS retail sales manager Lawrence Barris said he reviewed Rapp Collins of Dallas and the Houston offices of McCann-Erickson, Bates Southwest and Ogilvy & Mather before naming Freed.
“We liked Freed’s responsiveness and its size,” Barris said, adding that the agency has handled some project assignments in the past. “Freed’s creative stood out. We gave them several assignments last fall and the results exceeded our expectations.”
Freed Advertising owner and president Gerald Freed believes the account could double or triple in size with the acquisition of additional regional assignments for the client over the next year. Freed said the agency has already begun discussions with ARS executives in other undisclosed markets.
Freed’s assignments in Houston include the development of television, radio, outdoor and direct mail executions utilizing the tagline, “America’s home team.”
Freed will also develop ads for A-ABC Appliance, a retail chain acquired by ARS. A-ABC has seven Houston locations.
Houston-based ARS has grown of late through acquisitions and now operates service companies in more than 70 U.S. cities. Its annual revenues exceed $400 million.
