In a first for Fox Sports World Espanol, the Spanish-language sports cable network has acquired rights to the fall 2001 Major League Baseball playoffs and World Series for an undisclosed sum.

Fox Sports World Espanol plans to produce comprehensive coverage of the playoffs, including on-air graphics and audio packages specific to Spanish-speaking audiences, Fox Sports World Espanol general manager Larry Gillman said.

Fox Sports World Espanol licensed its Spanish-language World Series and playoff rights from Fox Sports, which had acquired them as part of its six-year renewal with MLB, making all playoff telecasts exclusive to Fox beginning in the fall.
