Former 141 Chief to Lead Publicis Dialog

NEW YORK Colin Hearn, the former chief executive of 141 Worldwide, on Monday will join Publicis Dialog in the newly created post of global CEO, the company said.

The 18-year 141 veteran resigned from the London-based marketing services unit in July as its parent, Cordiant Communications Group, was preparing to be bought by WPP Group for $16 million.

One impetus for CCG’s sale was 141’s May loss of the $30 million Allied Domecq business, which has since been absorbed by Publicis Groupe’s Publicis Worldwide and Publicis Dialog.

Hearn will be based in London, reporting to Publicis Worldwide COO Rick Bendel. In his new post, he will help develop the marketing services operation, which a representative said has about 1,000 staffers globally.

In the U.S., Publicis Dialog has seven offices handling accounts like Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Siemens and Whirlpool, among others.
