Fogarty Adds the Wright Stuff

Houston Agency Strengthens PR Operation
DALLAS–Fogarty Klein & Partners in Houston has acquired cross-town shop Wright Marketing Communications to fold into its own public relations department.
The addition brings not only $1 million in new billings, but enhances the technological and trade capabilities in the Lois/USA shop’s public relations unit, according to the agency.
“One of our strategic growth objectives focused on increasing our presence in business-to-business marketing this year,” said Judi Martin, senior vice president and general manager of FK&P Public Relations, in a statement.
The 15-year-old Wright Marketing Communications has focused primarily on the energy, telecommunications and technology fronts. Former owner Tom Wright joins Fogarty Klein & Partners as a senior consultant, serving high-tech accounts. Two other former Wright staffers are scheduled to join Fogarty.
The firm provided marketing consulting, research and communications work alongside its public relations specialty.
Fogarty representative Bettie DeBruhl said the acquisition represents the first made by the $166 million agency.
Among the Wright Marketing Communications accounts now on Fogarty Klein & Partners’ client roster are Bowne Co., a printer specializing in the financial services arena; Denaly Inc., a manufacturer of underground fiberglass products; accounting firm Grant Thornton; and Telecom Alliance, a combined venture of 32 telecommunications retailers nationwide.
