Commuters using the Chicago Transit Authority’s stop at O’Hare International Airport this month are getting flowers, or at least images of them, courtesy of a promotion from online florist FTD.com.
The company is taking its “Be a hero” campaign, developed by DDB Chicago, to the station with 40 ceiling and wall banners, floor displays and kiosks in a saturation effort that covers everything from the turnstiles to the ceiling above the tracks. On the morning of Nov. 1, the first day, flower girls “Rose,” “Lily” and “Daisy” greeted 5,000 riders, handing out two fresh flowers to each.
FTD.com, a division of FTD Inc., Downers Grove, Ill., awarded its account to DDB this summer following a review. The agency’s TV and radio campaign under the “Be a hero” tagline broke earlier this fall.
