Fitch’s CEO Takes Top Job at Landor Associates

Incoming boss Lois Jacobs starts next month

Landor Associates has found a new global CEO within the WPP Group family.

The branding consultancy today named Lois Jacobs to the role, effective next month. For the past four years, Jacobs has been CEO of Fitch, another WPP branding consultancy. At Landor, she succeeds Mary Zalla, who has been chief executive since January 2012.

Zalla, 48, will serve as co-CEO through December before shifting to head of Landor's global consumer branding practice and managing director of the agency's offices in Chicago and Cincinnati. She has worked at the agency since 1998.

As CEO of Fitch, which has 14 offices in nine countries, Jacobs was based in London. And as the ninth CEO in Landor's history, she'll split her time between the London and New York. Before Fitch, Jacobs, 58, was president international at event marketing shop Jack Morton, a unit of Interpublic Group.

Landor, a unit of WPP's Young & Rubicam Group, has 25 offices in 19 countries. Top accounts include Procter & Gamble, MillerCoors, Barclays and FedEx.

Succeeding Jacobs as CEO of Fitch is Simon Bolton, worldwide CEO of The Brand Union, another WPP consultancy. In an unusual arrangement, Bolton will lead both shops as "distinct, autonomous" operations, according to Brand Union.
