In the interim, Paloma Azulay will oversee international markets as Global Chief Brand Officer for the company, which oversees fast food giants Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons.

While Machado declined to confirm where he’s going next, he called it a “great opportunity.”

“It has been an amazing seven years at Restaurant Brands International,” Machado said. “I am super proud of the team’s impact on the brands, especially Burger King, and work around sustainability, food quality, and diversity and inclusion.”

Machado served in his most recent post with RBI for the last two years, winning accolades for campaigns like the Moldy Whopper and Whopper Detour.
