Ferguson Leaving Y&R for DDB

NEW YORK Jim Ferguson, chief creative officer of Young & Rubicam’s flagship office in New York since 1999, has resigned. Ferguson, a former DDB creative director, will return to that Omnicom Group shop in a senior creative role, the agency said.

Ferguson is heading to Chicago, where he will become evp, creative consultant, working primarily on McDonald’s, DDB confirmed Thursday. He resigned from Y&R on Wednesday and is likely to start his new job soon.

Ferguson’s move comes a month after Y&R hired former BBDO ecd Michael Patti as New York CEO and worldwide creative director.
