FCB Wins Auto Club Group

CHICAGO The Auto Club Group, a consortium of six American Automobile Associations in the Midwest, has tapped Interpublic Group’s Foote Cone & Belding here to handle its advertising account after a review, according to the agency.

The Chicago shop beat WPP Group’s JWT and independent agency Cramer-Krasselt, both Chicago, for the account, according to sources. The business had previously been with independent agency Chicago Creative Partnership. Boston consultant Pile & Co. handled the search.

“We have confidence in the FCB team’s ability to help strengthen the AAA brand and grow our business, based upon their creative capabilities, understanding of our opportunities and challenges, bench strength and the team’s integrated working approach. We are excited about our new partnership,” said Chuck Podowski, CEO of the Dearborn, Mich., organization.

The Auto Club Group represents AAA clubs in eight states: Illinois, northern Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Account billings could not be immediately determined.
