FCB Seattle Adds Roberts as Group Director

LOS ANGELES Becky Roberts, former director of global brand marketing for Amazon.com, has joined Foote, Cone & Belding’s Seattle office as group account director.

Roberts, 37, takes on a new position at the 40-person shop and is one of four group account directors. She will manage the Group Health account, as well as other interactive and general agency projects. She reports to FCB Seattle general manager Kass Sells and oversees a four-person account team.

“Our Group Health business is growing and becoming more sophisticated and we want to bring on additional smart, strategic resources,” said Sells.

Roberts spent three years at Amazon.com, where she determined global brand positioning and led two agencies in branding and retail efforts, including the “Sweaterman” campaign from FCB in San Francisco and the 2002 “Holiday” campaign from Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore. Previously, she was a partner and account director at J. Walter Thompson in Chicago, managing several Kraft and Oscar Mayer accounts.

“She’s worked with agencies on some very senior-level and wonderful work,” said Sells. “She also has a large-agency background and her personality fits right in here.”

FCB Seattle’s clients also include Hewlett-Packard, AAA Washington, Washington Forest Protection Association and Tacoma Guitars.
